Bear Tales...Headlights

Headlights

Over the back of the crouching hill,
     Over the hump of the night
The automobiles, with squeaks and squeals
     Keep lifting their eyes of light

They seem like animal eyes in the dark
     That are stealthily searching for prey;
And the road is afraid for it wriggles its tail
     And hurriedly slithers away....
